Imagine being on a floating city, with activities and entertainment beyond your wildest expectations. Where options range from rest and relaxation to the ability to explore destinations and historical cities. A floating city where you can do something uniquely quiet and romantic or have a wild night with an entire group of people of various age ranges and experience a vacation like no other. If this sounds appealing to you then you’re ready for a cruise.

Last month, Book It & Go Travel hosted our first Family & Friends cruise aboard the MSC Divina. MSC Divina is owned and operated by MSC Cruises. The Divina was constructed from 2010-2012 in Europe and made her first USA appearance in the winter of 2015. The opportunities for fun are endless on a cruise, plenty of activities for all ages on every ship.  For example, on the MSC Divina there was game of daytime trivia, bingo, Italian language classes, getting a massage or a soiree there are no limits to the amount of fun you can get into while cruising. To get the party started everyone in our group met on the top deck for a bonus voyage party to celebrate the ships departure. Some of the daily fun includes game challenges, dance lessons, sports tournaments and so much more; making it the best type of trip for multi-generational groups. The ship has accommodations for everyone from babies all the way to adults. For the little ones there are daycare services called MSC baby time. MSC baby time allows infants to spend time with their peers and play with plethora of chic baby toys all the while being supervised by MSC certified caretakers. For the kids/juniors there is an aqua park, waterslides, game consoles including PS3, Wii, Xbox, high-tech gaming attractions such as Virtual World and an F1 Simulator just to name a few. For our teens who may feel too cool for the junior activities there are daily IPOP competitions, teen movie trivia, social network games, dance contests and a teen club. For the adults there are limitless daytime activities which include culinary challenges, sports tournaments, professional dance classes, arts & crafts and high and low impact fitness. Aboard this floating city there is Wi-Fi, laundry service, a post office, fresh flower delivery and a 24 hour receptionist. When nighttime rolls around it’s time to prepare for the Stardust dance contest, MSC Factor, an all-white party, karaoke or maybe even acting out classic scenes during Hollywood Stars. If that doesn’t suit your taste maybe you can try your luck at roulette or poker at the full gaming casino. Moreover, there are several shops onboard that sell everything from household toiletries, perfume, jewelry, clothing and souvenirs.

Each cruise line, including Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, etc has elaborate stage productions and theatre shows nightly offer entertainment considered to be a world of glamour, imagination, music and spectacle. Aboard the Divina done twice nightly shows include tributes to Michael Jackson, Witches of Paris and Starwalker. Did we neglect to mention each cruise line offers spa services with over 20 types of massages, body treatments, facials, manicure, pedicure and aroma therapy treatment. When dealing with groups of different age ranges, interests and expectations a cruise is the best option to keep everyone fully satisfied, with the endless array of activities to choose from; I know we were!
