Bougainvillea Barbados
Published Saturday, June 30th 2018 - Updated Monday, July 2nd 2018I’m excited to be back at Bougainvillea Barbados, just last year we were here touring this flowery oasis on a site inspection. Since my last visit the renovation in the spa, restaurants and grounds are complete but more visibly noticeable are the room upgrades. Maintaining with all the amenities of home there are now a unique assortment of hotel suites including a Honeymoon Suite, Deluxe One & Two Bedroom Suites, One Bedroom Penthouse and Two Bedroom Beachfront.
For my three night stay, I checked into room number 326 one of the Junior Suites affectionately known as the Brown Tortoise Shell room. These suites feature a mini kitchen with microwave, mini refrigerator and two burner stovetop. For guests comfort and convenience, there’s cutlery, crockery, glassware and cookware. My favorite upgrade in the kitchenettes are the refaced cabinets with updated hardware. The bathroom has been completely modernized – new vanity, shower, tiling and fixtures.
A towel animal left on the mattress isn’t the only special touch in my room housekeeping places fresh flower blooms suitably in the bathroom too. The decor highlights the refreshing blend of cool Caribbean colors, soothing fabrics and textures. The new room categories are more of my style a more contemporary modern design with clean lines.
This attractive and airy Junior Suite is located on the west side of the resort. From the furnished balcony I have sights of the gardens, pools and best of all direct views of the emerald Caribbean Sea on one of the loveliest South coast beaches in Barbados. Being familiar with the island – this trip was curated for three types of immersions and they were culinary, exploration and spa experiences. I designed the perfect balance of exotic pleasures and familiar comforts within my week long holiday.
A highlight for me each night was relaxing in the outdoor chaise lounge chair on my balcony with pillows and a comforter falling asleep to the eastern Caribbean breeze, sounds of nocturnal birds chirping, tree frogs whistling and the waves crashing nearby.
Bougainvillea is a quaint and charming resort hotel. My room was comfortable and meals were delicious. In fact, I was highly impressed with the chef's culinary skills at dinner service. To summarize, my stay at Bougainvillea was relaxing and very enjoyable.
